reevaluations

The past two weeks have been plagued with a sort-of-shin-splint that's been bugging me ever since the Sunday before 3000m finals. It's been bad enough that I've had to bail on a few runs, but hopefully my religious icing and stretching will make it heal sooner.

people are so critical

Myself included.

I was on the way back home when I realised how easy it is for me to find flaws in everything. Apparently everyone has some flaw or another that renders them imperfect in my eyes. And the funny thing is that as humans, we tend to be more self-critical than anything else, but we're also so proud.

Today's heats went better than I expected. I did 11:59; and according to the Android app on Mr Lim's phone, first 200m was 42s, then subsequent laps were 1:33, 1:35, 1:37, 1:37, 1:40, 1:38, 1:33. The second girl sprinted past me with 200m to go though, so I guess my strategy for finals is also the simplest one. Start out fast, push the pace, make everyone else die and hang in there.

Going to miss so many lessons though...

mindedness

This might sound kind of narrow-minded but I hate it when people are narrow-minded.

Okay, I get it. You don't support same-sex marriage legalisation and you don't like it when people talk about how they don't have a religion and you are an advocate for 'Creationism', but for shit's sake, don't preach it. You don't hear me going around preaching about my beliefs (or lack thereof, for that matter), unless you asked for it. In which case... you asked for it.

I can talk so much about these things. Maybe it's the sadist in me that enjoys talking about controversial issues like sexuality and religion but it's really exciting to discuss it with people, especially people who share a different point of view yet are rational enough to be open to other people (aka me) expressing their own opinions. If I had the time I'd probably write an entire essay or two, but alas, I am lazy and lack time.

I doubt anyone actually reads this blog, so here's a silent, virtual plea that resonates out in the form of bits and bytes. Have an opinion, but keep it to yourself, and stop shoving it in everyone's face.

productivity

I have been insanely productive today:

  • Biology FA
  • Chinese O Level 2009 Practice Paper
  • First draft of Geog AA Individual Report
  • Revised vectors
  • Raced!!!!!!! 9th indiv, 3rd team (both c and b div!)
  • Apparently scored like a camel boss for si han
Plus lunch was really good, so that's a plus. Though I suspect the beef goulash had flour in it, which is why I feel pregnant right now. Next time I'll just go for the salad, two servings of chicken and two eggs bring many stares but a happy me.

'quarterly review one'

And this is where I start to sound like a corporate bigshot.
